Dems on a Greased Rail to Hell

Why are Democrats determined to pass health care that voters don't want?

Conservative Ed Morrissey does an excellent job explaining why Democrats are still trying to pass a grossly expensive, highly unpopular health care bill despite opposition from a clear majority of Americans.  It actually makes political sense, in a liberally twisted kind of way.

Here are a few excerpts, but I highly recommend you read the entire article.

Quoting Andrew McCarthy:
They know America doesn't want this, but they've factored that in already
I hear Republicans getting giddy over the fact that “reconciliation,” if it comes to that, is a huge political loser. That’s the wrong way to look at it.

The Democratic leadership has already internalized the inevitablility of taking its political lumps. That makes reconciliation truly scary.

Since the Dems know they will have to ram this monstrosity through, they figure it might as well be as monstrous as they can get wavering Democrats to go along with.
It's about power and control

Dems know Republicans will not be able to dismantle the monstrous bureaucratic beast (and the hundreds of thousands of government positions that go with it) once they get it in place.
They want socialized medicine and all it entails about government control even more than they want to win elections.

After all, if the party of government transforms the relationship between the citizen and the state, its power over our lives will be vast even in those cycles when it is not in the majority.

This is about power, and there is more to power than winning elections, especially if you’ve calculated that your opposition does not have the gumption to dismantle your ballooning welfare state.
Still, it's not a done deal
They will put their heads down and go for as much transformation as they can get, figuring that once they get it, it will never be rolled back.

The only question is whether there are enough Democrats who are conventional politicians and who care about being reelected, such that they will deny the leadership the numbers it needs.
Gotta give the Dems Credit.  Unlike Republicans, they are willing to go down in flames for their political convictions:

Dennis Prager Agrees:
Most people on the Left are True Believers. This is critical to understand. They are willing to lose Congress; Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are prepared to lose both houses to get this through.

Why? Because losing an election cycle means nothing compared to taking over more of the American economy.
Wouldn't it be great to have some true believers on the conservative side?

* - DISCLAIMER:  I do not think the democrats are nazis, just your garden variety North American statists.  I just think this picture from The People's Cube is incredibly funny, and quite apropos, nazi references aside.

voters DO want reform, the ones who don't will be happy when it's passed because they will see the changes for the good of the people.

"Gotta give the Dems Credit. Unlike Republicans, they are willing to go down in flames for their political convictions" and I am sure they are bringing down (with them) all those who called Banning crazy.

We as a nation are in a serious trouble. This morning on on the Laura I. show I heard the comment "Who said that what happened to Greece can't happen to us"

I believe at the rate we are going, we are heading towards being maybe #2 or #3 of all powers. If we don't manufacture in this country paper, ink, and plastic in mass quantities and tell China to F.O. then we won't have money to even support our defense system and mail delivery. The Postal Office is already laying off more people, cancelling saturday deliveries, and increasing rates. What's next? our military won't take any more new recruits and retirement will be cut for them?

We are slowly drifting from #1 and increasing our deficit landing into bankrupcy.

Good Morning Mr.Silverfiddle!

There is certainly no lack of opinion on this .... and that is what make's this country so GREAT! And anger is healthy .... in a therapuetic sense psychologically, as I have stated before ... " I been angry all my life and have alway's been happy" :)

I have wrote so much on this so called HCR, I feel like I wrote a damn book already. Basically, my posting's on this have been everything but positive, I think I have one set at least 6 or 7 part's called "Health Care SNOWEjob" that I termed after Olympia Snowe, when she announced the so called "Trigger Plan", basically "trigger's" dont mean shit and never did .... I mean what the Hell is that? You dont clean your act up in 5 year's we will punish you, etc. Horseshit, these sniveling soft assed pansies dont know change, reform, reprimand or much of any damn thing, if they did .... they wouldnt take goddamn 30 year's in a seat without getting a goddamn thing done, laziest SOB's I've ever seen .... both side's. I gave my reason's earlier why I was for "nationalized" health care, having personally experienced it. But one of the reason's I gave support to HCR initially is because dem's said they would put in a public option, and the masses were optimistic about it (which doesnt suprise me, since folk's think alot of shit far from reality) But my posting's on this from day one .... was that it would be stalled and twisted into some other crap, that isnt anything remotely close to what they were out for, including twisting PO into somethoing other than the term, or just weaseling out of it somehow, which to my suprise, like a blueprint or carbon copy as far as it is, every damn scam that I wrote and expected or thought they may try .... they did. It's just a matter of thinking like them instead of what we are programmmed to think. However now I say to myself after this storm .... "Do we really want what their proposing to go through?" It's a matter so to speak of choosing the lesser of two "evil's" .... however , you still end up with "evil". I'll shut the Hell up now.

Thanx Guy ..........

BTW .... I love the picture for heading on this posting with the National Socialist's, I thought it was hilarious. I actually have many old copies/ issue's of NSM (National Socialist Movement)magazine ( loved the zine as well, at least for a laugh), I dont think it is the same, heh, heh, heh, heh, heh ... what I have are the actual organization ( American Neo- Nazi) ... and much of hate literature .... or what's called "hate literature" by the masses .... actually though not much different than anyone else like Al Sharpton or the like's for instance .... they basically are for the "white" race, is all.

Should this monstrous piece of garbage get passed,it CAN be dismantled just as quickly as it was passed. The left wants people to believe that once something is signed into law, it either can't be undone or it will take years. B.S. Any law, especially an unconstitutional law can be repealed and quickly. It is up to We the People to stand up and make it happen.

Technically, you are correct, Reverend. But will enough republicans grow the brass ones needed to repeal? I have my doubts.
