Clever propagandists have wound it up and bound it all so tightly, that one cannot criticize radical political Islam without appearing to criticize the legitimate exercise of religion.

I would expect this to work in the uneducated hinterlands of South Asia, but it is scary that such rot has taken hold here in the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave, and with the cooperation of so many supposedly enlightened individuals.

The only way for freedom loving Americans to combat this is to not kowtow to it. Shove it back in their faces. How many people have militia members decapitated in the past 10 years? I bet Muslims are beating them in the head count.

This exchange occurred at the King hearings on Islamic radicalization.  I love how he eviscerates the clueless dimbulb-ocrat who stupidly discounted the testimony of good Muslim Americans who related how radical Islam had tragically led their children astray. 

Rep. Jackie Speier, D-Calif., went after the witnesses themselves. She said that these "anecdotes are interesting," of Bledsoe's and Bihi's story. She noted that hearing needed more experts. Then she asked a question of Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser, president of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy.

Speier: "Do you believe that you have expertise to be speaking?"

Jasser: "That's the question the theocrats ask me all the time." (RCP)

The Tripoli Trap

Libyans are crying for the The Great Satan to come and save them, and the neocons who've never so much as heard a shot fired in anger are beating the war drums.

Remember the lies Chalabi and other Saddam opponents told us? People would throw flowers at our feet and welcome us with kisses, the Iraqi people just wanted to be free, Saddam was building nuclear weapons…

He and other succeeded in goading us to action, at a high cost in lives and treasure. Now the oil is flowing, and contracts go to China, who did nothing to topple the old regime. In Afghanistan, our troops are making the country safe for Chinese and Russian mining companies, while our “friends” the Pakistanis provide safe haven for their friends the Taliban.

We saved the Kosovar and Bosnian Muslims from slaughter and are rewarded by a Balkan Muslim gunning down American Airmen at Frankfurt Main.

We saved Kuwait and Saudi Arabia from Hussein, Afghanistan from the Taliban, and our military is stationed in the Gulf at the request of the poobahs to protect them from Iran.  All we get is hatred in return.

If we were so stupid as to go in to Libya, we would end up being further castigated by the purple-faced Muslim Street and their fellow travelers in the international left.

Libyans are already trying to lure us in…

Not because they love America or admire our ideals; but because they need our firepower to topple Khaddafi. Once that is accomplished, welcoming smiles will turn to fleck-spittle hatred and we’ll be accused of war crimes. If we leave too early we will be abandoning the Libyan people. Are You, or Have You ever been a Muslim?

Look at those stooges protesting “Islamophobia.” Russell Simmons is the king stooge. He should try taking his booty shaking brand of music to Saudi Arabia or Pakistan. They also don’t like Buddhists there. I’d like to hear his view of Islam after being clubbed and jailed by religious police.

There is no islamophobia in America. Phobia implies “irrational fear.” First, we are not afraid, we are concerned, and the concern is a rational one.

I wish one reporter would have asked the dingbats in the crowd where Molly Norris is. She’s the American in hiding here in America because bug-eyed head cutters are threatening to kill her in the name of the religion of peace. All because of some cartoons.

What They Won't Protest

It is also telling that you don’t see these people protesting a rotten education system that churns out illiterate and unemployable graduates, disproportionately minorities. They won’t protest the crime-infested sewers so many of our poor people are condemned to, and they contribute to the moral rot with their popular “culture” of bling, objectifying women, and glorifying violence, drugs, criminality and irresponsibility.

You won’t find these sanctimonious herd-mentality simpletons speaking out against female genital mutilation, honor killings or the stoning of women. Hell, they won’t even speak out about human trafficking, sex slavery, hunger or poverty. No, those issues are too pedestrian, no opportunity to let your freak flag fly and bash good Americans.

Rep King is not “investigating a religious minority,” and Islam is not on trial. The hearings are to investigate foreign influences radicalizing American Muslims. Muslims should welcome this as an effort to purge the violent and hateful elements that are a stain upon their religion. I know I would welcome any investigation into foreign elements attempting to infiltrate and subvert Christianity, especially if I thought my kids were vulnerable to it.


1% of the Population, 81% of the Terrorists

Representative Keith Ellison (Muslim-Minnesota) blubbered and wailed through his testimony Thursday.  He should have left aside the histrionic agitprop and instead wept over these Justice Department statistics:

more than 80% of all convictions tied to international terrorist groups and homegrown terrorism since 9/11 involve defendants driven by a radical Islamist agenda. Though Muslims represent less than 1% of the American population, they constitute defendants in 186 of the 228 cases the Justice Department lists. (NY Daily News)

It is a failure and a tragedy when an American citizen is enticed to murderous sedition against his country. Good people of all faiths should want to find the root cause so we could stop it. Looks to me like too many would rather keep their heads in the sand.

Muslims in America

Rep Peter King (R-NY) will convene hearings on the radicalization of Muslims in America. 

Some good may come of this. Getting the issues out in the open, starting a dialog and hearing from Muslims themselves could be a good thing.

Misperceptions abound on both sides.  Here's a common complaint:

“There is a generalized sense of Islamophobia floating around, and the hearings are not doing anything to assuage Muslim fears.” (CNN - Islam Hearings)

Wrong!

America is clearly not in the grip of Islamophobia (unless you count the press voluntarily bowing to Islamic pressure groups).  "Phobia" is an irrational fear of something.  Our concerns are quite rational.  Americans look at the Muslim world and we don't like what we see.  

More importantly, we don't want the misogynistic dysfunction and violent religious agitation freakshow setting up its tents here.  Sharia is not compatible with our constitutional republicanism.  We don't stone adulteresses (or even call them that), and we don't execute blasphemers.  We like out beer, boobs and bratwurst barbecue, and we like our violence to be random and non-religious.

Here's another reason we need hearings:

The efforts come a little more than six months after many Muslims were blindsided by a wave of national opposition to a proposed Islamic cultural center near New York’s ground zero last summer.

The fact that they were "blindsided" by the national outcry against planting a mosque anywhere near the site where Muslims killed 3000 people show just how out of touch (or arrogant) the authors of this idea are.

Still, they are joining King's debate.  CAIR and other organizations plan to “start offering facts about American Muslims and their role in helping prevent attacks on our nation,” ahead of King’s hearings, says Corey Saylor, the group’s national legislative director...

If nothing else, I hope these hearings deflate the false charges of "hate" and "Anti-Muslim" that is constantly hurled at good Americans.  Speaking out against a religion or denigrating it's culture or values is not hate.  Christians put up with it every day.

Religious Hate Crimes?  Ask a Jew

Of the 1,575 victims of an anti-religious hate crime:

• 71.9 percent were victims because of an offender’s anti-Jewish bias.
• 8.4 percent were victims because of an anti-Islamic bias. (FBI)

So I look forward to these hearings.  I want to hear good Muslim-Americans stand up and proudly talk about how they are fighting the religious intolerance and bigotry that spills out from the horrible countries they have fled.  I want to hear them talk about how our constitution trumps religious-based laws.

America's track record is pretty clear.  We are a tolerant people.  We have welcomed hundreds of thousands of Muslims and will continue to do so as long as they recognize the primacy of the constitution, respect the God-given rights of others, and refrain from honor killings and decapitations.

Ironic Story of the Year

Muzzammil Hassan, founder of Bridges TV, a project to promote a positive image of Islam, cut off his wife's head in their place of business.

This happened two years ago in Western New York state. In the United States of America. He was convicted this past Monday.

This item should be given an award for Most Ironic Story to Get No Press Coverage. The newspapers that did cover it at the time danced around the whole "Islam and cutting heads off" thing.  Mark Steyn gave us this newspaper clipping in his insightful treatment of this case:

Muslim Population set to Double

This is horrible news


Just look at predominately Muslim countries. Is there a good one in the lot? All we hear about from these lands is beheadings, stoning of women and honor killings of daughters, embassies burned down over cartoons, illiteracy, belief in wild conspiracies...

No Nobel prizes, no scientific breakthroughs, no contributions to literature, humane letters or art. Almost anywhere any violent conflicts are going on, Muslims are a party to it.

They seem to have a knack for snuffing the light of reason in every corner they infest. Contrast this with the Christianity-spurred Scholastic movement of the theocratic Christian Middle Ages. Other than a few flare-ups, Christianity rode the enlightenment and the renaissance rather than launch bloody rampages against it. Christianity has had its violent episodes, but it powered the advance of Western Civilization, and now sits content to let earthly powers run the governments. There are no Christian theocracies.

There is some good news, if we can believe it…

Despite the rapid growth of Islam, Christianity seems set to remain the biggest religion in the world for the next 20 years. There are currently more than 2 billion Christians - 30 to 35 percent of the global population - making it very unlikely that there will be fewer than 2.2 billion Christians in 2030.

The report undermines the notion that Europe is heading toward having any country with a Muslim majority. The continent will be about 8 percent Muslim in 2030, it projects.

"The data that we have isn't pointing in the direction of 'Eurabia' at all," Grim said.

"The Muslim population is growing and slowing. Instead of a runaway train, it's trending with the general global population," he said. (CNN)

Muslim numbers are increasing and spreading across the globe, and that is bad news indeed. I say this based upon my observation of the world.

What is the religious status of successful countries? 
The typical successful and free country has a religion-neutral government where practicing believers of various and disparate faiths peacefully coexist with one another and with non-believers. Until Muslims learn to do this, their lands will continue to be snakepits of hatred and economic misery

Christians are being murdered, persecuted and chased out of Muslim lands. If the roles were reversed, Christians attacking Muslims, the world would rightly be crying ethnic cleansing.

Here's what a "moderate" Pakistani imam had to say about the cold-blooded murder of a politician by his bodyguard.  The politician has defended a Christian woman against accusations of blasphemy:

They even went so far as to warn government officials and journalists that the “supporter is as equally guilty as one who committed blasphemy,” and so therefore they should all take “a lesson from the exemplary death” of Salman Taseer. (NY Post)

Are we able to take a lesson?

Pension and benefit packages threaten to collapse entire cities and states

Benefits packages for government workers are unsustainable, and we need to have a responsible discussion focused on the financial facts. The purported cupidity or sanctity of the pensioners has nothing to do with the facts on the ground. If someone opened the door to paradise, who among us would not walk in? So it's not about the people, it's about the fiscal mess we are now in.

We set up a system where people could grab with both hands while being completely insulated from the consequences.

What's the Answer?

Privatize it. City workers, teachers, auditors, logistics. This is not a knock against public servants. The good ones will get hired by the private sector and the bad ones will no longer be able to scam the system. End all government pensions and drive everyone to a 401K-type retirement plan. End all government health insurance plans and drive everyone to private insurance. End government disability programs; anyone who wants such protection can buy it in the public insurance market. These actions would put our federal, state and local governments on a pay as we go basis, reducing future unfunded liabilities.

Sound draconian? The private sector has already done it.

Angry Islam Incompatible with European Liberalism

Europeans are increasingly unwilling to tolerate Muslim intolerance

The liberal media in this country are wringing their hands over increasing European intolerance. They worry that anti-Muslim sentiment is on the rise even in Sweden...

Angry Muslim replaces Ugly American as #1 Threat to Europe

There is disorder in the European house. Europeans were living comfortably and peaceably in the home they had built, settling upon a live-and-let-live liberalism that has kept the peace for 65 years.  Ugly Americans demanding everybody speak English used to be the main disturber of Europe's peaceful repose.

Now, denizens of the Olde Continent are shocked and horrified to see that the Muslims they generously invited in have become a pack of wild animals let loose in the house. The beasts have found high perches upon couch backs and china cabinets and bare their fangs at common European behaviors and customs.

Because of these newcomers, Europeans must change their behavior?

How is that right? A people have a right to their culture, and nobody has the right to forcibly change it from the outside. This is especially so when the culture is beneficial to mankind, not a threat to others, and has been decided upon by the people. Europe's culture meets all three criteria.

"It isn't racist to want to preserve your culture," said Leif Johansson, a 64-year-old carpenter. "I'm open to immigration, but these people come without a thought to integration, no interest in learning Swedish or being part of Swedish society."

Precisely. No nation should be compelled to commit national suicide. But what else could the agenda be of a people who move in and angrily demand conformance to their strange and violent politico-religious freak show?

Europe may finally be fed up. I pray they are, and I pray we learn a lesson here before it's too late.

A 20-year-old Bristow man pleaded guilty Wednesday to aiding the Somali terrorist organization al-Shabaab.

Chesser admitted that he encouraged attacks on the creators of the television show "South Park" for mocking the prophet Muhammad on their show. He also pleaded guilty to soliciting others to try to desensitize law enforcement by putting suspicious-looking, but harmless, packages in public places. Chesser admitted that he twice tried to go to Somalia to join al-Shabaab as a fighter, and once took his infant son to the airport to avoid detections.

Juan Williams is right!  And taxpayer-funded NPR is WRONG!

We cannot pray in publicly-funded schools because it would supposedly violate the First Amendment freedom of religion rights of those who don't believe in prayer.  Based upon that screwed up liberal illogic, NPR violated Juan Williams' right to free speech under the same amendment to the US Constitution.

MSNBC "Brand Insanity"
The website msnbc.com is trying to shake the nuts off of its tree.  It no longer want to be associated with the leftwing wackadoos at the cable channel MSNBC...

The television channel has carved a space out for itself in the network news wars by moving further and further to left-leaning content, such as the Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow shows.

The Web site wants to be a strictly objective news site without the liberal bent of the channel. Already, the two groups are separate companies and now they want separate names.

We do not use the coercive power of government to scold people into religious orthodoxy. If your religion is so damned good and truly God's word, it can stand on its own.

Western governments divorced themselves from religious powers centuries ago, declaring a separation of church and state, leaving each to its own sovereign domain, one earthly and one spiritual.  We don't "submit" to Christianity, we worship of our own volition (or not).  We damned sure will not submit to your anti-gay, anti-woman, bigoted ideology. 

Europe's Pusillanimous pissing down its collective leg in the face of angry Islam is alarming, disheartening and ultimately destructive to the fundamental freedoms we all hold dear.

To be fair, our European cousins only realized too late that they had let in a ferocious beast, which is now becoming the master.  They cannot throw the beast out; the best they can hope for is to tame it.  But history shows there is no conciliation between Islam and the infidel.  The parasite inevitably destroys the host.  It is not "submit or die," but rather "submit and die."

Liberalism Contains the Seeds of its Own Destruction

Europe's famed and admirable liberalism and tolerance are being snuffed by militant Muslims.  It's a case of tolerance taken too far, to its logical extreme:

Having tolerated Muslim intolerance, Europeans are now horrified to see rightwing political movements gaining ascendancy:

Socialists' long-standing support for European unification, religious tolerance and integrating immigrants has made them vulnerable to right-wing populists like the Sweden Democrats, Geert Wilders' Dutch Freedom Party or France's National Front. (Reuters - Anti-Immigrant Europe)

Angry, bigoted Muslims, the recipients of European tolerance, repay their liberal benefactors by spewing intolerance of anything outside their narrow, bigoted ideology.  Europeans are growing weary of it and voting rightwing as a result.

The People Get It

I am not bashing Europe. They have way too much socialism for my taste, and they fund it by confiscatory taxation while having us carry their defense burden. But it is their choice. They have built a nice, peaceful life for themselves, and it is being ruined by liberal immigration policies.

A society should be like a strawberry, luscious and juicy and sweet on the inside, but with barbs on the outside to keep the predators away. Yes, many varieties of berries have barbs, they are just so fine that they don’t bother humans eating them, but they do repel the pests that try to eat them on the vine.

Europe is a beautiful continent and the people are wonderful. They are way too collectivist for my tastes, but it’s their society, not mine. If they want to hold on to the world they have built, they need to put some barbs on their berries.

A Civil Religion

Imam Ralph came right out and said it to Soledad O'Brien when she asked him about the possibility of moving the mosque site: 

Rauf gave a reply that boils down to a threat. Rauf said that if his Cordoba House does not get built on his chosen site near Ground Zero, “The headlines in the Muslim world will be that Islam is under attack.”

As for the message Rauf’s words might impart to the many Americans who oppose his project, his warning doesn’t sound like bridge-building. It sounds like blackmail. (Forbes - Claudia Rosett)

Doctor Zudhi Jasser, Former Navy Lt Commander and founder of  American Islamic Forum for Democracy opposes Rauf's efforts and believes the mosque should be moved for the good of all.  He espouses a very American ideal:

But, I think what unites us is the freedoms and liberties our Constitution gives us..." (CBS News)

A Civil Religion

Our founding fathers consciously chose to put no religion above another, but to instead foster a civil religion, in the spirit Jean Jaques Rousseau.  In his chapter on Civil Religion, Rousseau put all religions into one of three categories:

• "The true theism, what may be called natural divine right or law."  This is religion at its most elemental; man worshiping God without intervening pastors, altars and dogmas.  It is the God upon which our country was founded.
• State Religions, including theocracies. Think the Pantheons of Rome, Greece, Iran, and the ancient Israelites.
• Religions which conflict with the state. He placed Roman Catholicism in this category. He described such religions as one "which gives men two codes of legislation, two rulers, and two countries, renders them subject to contradictory duties, and makes it impossible for them to be faithful both to religion and to citizenship."

He praised the adherents of "Mahomet" for having crafted a religion of the second category, where there is no contradiction between political and religious morality.  How things have changed since 1762!  Muslims have burst the bounds of their own homogeneous societies and have now displaced Catholics as the disturbing influence pitting the pious against the state. 

The philosopher also recognizes the salutary effects of personal morality on society: "it matters very much to the community that each citizen should have a religion."   And it's no business of the state "provided they are good citizens in this life."

The US Constitution:  A Civil Profession of Faith

There is therefore a purely civil profession of faith of which the Sovereign should fix the articles, not exactly as religious dogmas, but as social sentiments without which a man cannot be a good citizen or a faithful subject.

Theological Intolerance is Incompatible with a Free Society

By theological intolerance, he means being intolerant of those who do not share your religion.  This quote is best understood by imagining it coming from an intolerant religious bigot:

It is impossible to live at peace with those we regard as damned; to love them would be to hate God who punishes them: we positively must either reclaim or torment them.

Rousseau then explains why...

Wherever theological intolerance is admitted, it must inevitably have some civil effect; and as soon as it has such an effect, the Sovereign is no longer Sovereign even in the temporal sphere: thenceforce priests are the real masters, and kings only their ministers.  

This is the standard to which we must hold every American.  Muslim, Christian, Atheist.  It matters not what your faith is, so long as it is compatible with our civil religion.

Ha Ha!  That was a trick question!  There's no such thing.  First, some definitional clarity:  The word liberal has taken on negative connotations here in the US, largely because of the loud doctrinaire authoritarian statists who call themselves liberal.


Classical Liberalism is a good thing, and traditional Islam is incompatible with it

The Western World was founded upon a Classical Liberalism that celebrates a diversity of thought and speech.  Our Constitution enshrines its values by denying the state the power to squash things Christian conservatives have a great distaste for, like homosexuality and atheism.  But we believers are also free to believe, speak out and worship, so it is a true marketplace of ideas.

The same could be said of Europe up until a few years ago.

What do Abigail Esman, Pat Condell, and Christopher Hitchens have in common?

They're all European liberals, classical liberals who love and celebrate European culture in all it libertine glory.  What else do they have in common?  Unlike the pseudo-liberals in this country, they have taken notice of the sinister forces of Islam snuffing liberty in every corner of the world they infest, and they are ringing the alarm bells. 

Unlike American Dhimmicrats, these liberals know that Islamic "culture" is a threat to human rights and Western values wherever it casts its dark shadow.

Abigail Esman writes movingly from a liberal perspective about how Islamist bigots have wrecked Holland's traditional freedoms and changed the society for the worse. Theo Van Gogh was killed for insulting Islam, and Ayaan Hirsi Ali barely escaped with her life.

Liberalism let them in, and is now suffering a slow death because of it. European liberals are horrified to find themselves caught between far right nativist parties and hordes of foreigners determined to destroy traditional Dutch society.

Europe hosts some 15-20 million Muslim immigrants and their descendants, and they are radicalizing at an alarming rate. The children of immigrants, born on European soil, are eligible for visa-free travel into the United States (Forbes - Abigail Esman)

We have been blessed with a good Muslim community here in the US.  The vast majority are living the American dream as doctors, military officers and business owners.  How long will it be before their radical cousins from across the pond reach a critical mass here and wreck it for everybody?

Beheading Western Civilization

Muslim cleric calls for beheading of Dutch politician

AMSTERDAM (Reuters) – A well-known Australian Muslim cleric has called for the beheading of Dutch anti-Islamic politician Geert Wilders, a newspaper said on Friday.

Islam has decapitated itself, outlawing all rational thought, and now it seeks to do the same to the west.  Particularly sickening about this news clip is that this wasn't a Saudi cleric or a Pakistani, but an Australian.

Liberal atheist Susan Jacoby wonders where all her fellow liberals have gone on this issue...

I am an atheist with an affinity for non-fundamentalist religious believers whose faith has made room for secular knowledge. I am also a political liberal. 

I am not, however, a multiculturalist who believes that all cultures and religions are equally worthy of respect. And I find myself in a lonely place in relation to many liberals, political and religious, because I cannot accept a multiculturalism that tends to excuse, under the rubric of “tolerance,” religious and cultural practices that violate universal human rights.

I am sure she is no fan of intolerant Christians, either.  But notice the words she chooses:  Religious and cultural "practices."  Not beliefs, but practices.  It's an important distinction.  You are free to believe space aliens walk among us in disguise, but if you start shooting people in a quest to hunt them down, we will lock you up.

Anyone who's argued with misguided liberals on this subject know the routine.  They will drag out every instance of intolerance in this country going back to slave trading before the founding of the nation.

Yes, I reply, but we've mended out ways.  We don't tolerate such intolerant acts anymore, thank God.  We prosecute crimes against women and gays; Muslim states sanction and celebrate it.  And the fact that libs have to invoke Tim McVeigh (an atheist) and horrible incidents from a distant past to make their vapid point that America is no better than a Muslim country, shows just how intellectually bereft they are.  It also displays a disturbing streak of self-loathing.

So all you liberal women out there!  Put on a pair of shorts and a halter top and stand in downtown Riyadh or Karachi and shout your support for their Muslim culture.  Bring a transgendered friend to keep you company!

Dhimming the Lights in Olde Europe

Who cares if a Muslim scrawls on the side of a Catholic cathedral?  Europeans sure as hell aren't using it.  Europe's Churches are hollow tombs waiting for the continent's death rattle.  





The Astute Bloggers have a post about a Muslim stone mason carving “Allahu Akbar” on the side of a French Cathedral he is helping restore. God-fearing conservatives posted their outrage at Europe's increasing submission to Islam, but I take a different view.  He should tack on some minarets while he's up there.

Europeans have done it to themselves
They hate God, they hate children, they rail against the United States about how we’re destroying the world and wrecking their European culture by our global dominance and our crappy fast food. Yet that same culture collapses like a soggy house of cards in the face of angry Muslim bigotry.

They won’t f**k and they won’t fight. They are done as a society, and they deserve to be.  Europeans are a bigger insult to the Catholic Church than that Muslim man who calls the Cathedral he is restoring a “sacred place.”

Europe will be a Muslim continent in 50 years

Europeans refuse to breed; Muslims are cranking them out like crazy.

It saddens me to say this, I lived there for three years, but Europe is done, strangled by its tolerance of intolerance, child hatred, and liberal immigration policy.

Charles Martel and Jan Sobieski are crying in their graves. What Islam failed to do by the sword they will surely do by demographics.

And who cares? A flabby, flacid people unwilling to propagate their race and advance their culture deserve to die out. The gene pool will be improved at Europe’s passing.  America, Canada and Australia will continue to carry the torch.

Media-Crafted Controversy

This is traditionally a bad season for our sensationalistic, controversy driven 24/7 noise machine known as the "news" media. It's mid-August, and Americans are trying to enjoy what's left of summer.

We've unplugged for the summer, so media profits are sagging.  They respond by inventing stuff to get us back and basking in the glow of their corporate-sponsored cliffhangers.

So PEW conducts a poll and a news-hungry media is all over it like a pack of rabid jihadis on a cartoonist.

18% of Americans believe President Obama is a Muslim!

So what???

• The Same poll reports that only 46% of Democrats believe Obama is a Christian!  By their own standards, half of all Democrats are kooks!
• 20% of adults believe space aliens live among us in disguise
• 33% believe 911 was an inside job

"If Bush ran the car in the ditch, Obama and the Democrats went on a drunken joy ride and drove it the wrong way down I-70, caused a two-thousand car pileup."

Besides drumming up business for "news" organizations, this also provides a convenient distraction from the ongoing economic catastrophe that has been made worse by Obama and the Pelosicrats.

Random Question:  How would Michael Bloomberg and our lefty friends feel if the people building this mosque were rabid, unabashed America-haters who openly bragged about receiving Iranian money to build this victory monument?  What if they hated homosexuality and spoke in favor of wife-beating and honor killings?  Would it still be OK for them to build the mosque?  (The answer is yes, the First Amendment doesn't just protect noncontroversial happy talk.)

I don't recall anti-Mormon protesters being referred to asbigots for targeting religion; it appeared to be just the opposite,in fact.

The left rediscovers religious liberty

So welcome!  Welcome, my lefty friends to the cause of religious freedom!  I assume you will now be crossing the battle lines and locking arms with beleaguered Mormons who have been targeted by leftwing bigots.

A Mosque at Ground Zero... Who's Stupider Than Us?

Look at this guy.  He is the new face of racism in America.  And he's one of the few sane people left in Manhattan.

Having plastered all rightwing tea baggers as racists, the left has now moved on to tarring ordinary working class New Yorkers with the same idiotic brush.

He's telling the liberal morons on the Manhattan dhimmi council to get a clue and turn down the Ground Zero Muslim Monument to Religious Chauvinism and Global Violence.

"Va Fangu!"  He seems to be shouting.  "Get your stinkin' mosque off our hallowed ground, jackass!"

 But nobody's listening...

Here's a beautiful quote from one of the Muslim authors of this desecration:

Who the hell would want to go to a party at an Islamic center?  Women wrapped head to toe in curtains peeking at you through a little slit, guys hollering from towers, no pork bbq, no booze, that irritating whine-through-the-nose music...

Yes, they have a constitutionally-protected right to build it...
But just because you can doesn't mean you should.  They want to "build bridges" and promote "cultural understanding?"  Pissing off 2/3 of the nation is a hell of a way to do it...

So, yeah, build that 13-story edifice, but make it a multi-cultural, multi-faith center.  The Muslims can have the first 11 floors.  Put a Christian Church on the 12th and a Jewish Temple on the top floor.  Lets see how these Muslims for peace and moderation and multicultural understanding react to that plan...

Better yet, build this building and make sure it's facing east.

Here's How the Germans Handle Jihad

Liberals have found the constitution again!  All it took was a rousing anti-American cause...  

The good little Dhimmicrats are defending jihadis who want to build a mosque on ground zero (the wing of one of the hijacked planes fell on that site, so YES!  IT IS GROUND ZERO!) 

Meanwhile, in a surprising development, Europe shows us the way... 

Germany shut down a mosque last week...

... the Germans found the intestinal fortitude to commit a flagrant act of self-preservation and common sense by shutting down once and for all the Taiba mosque and affiliated community center which was a haven for the terror cell responsible for the 9/11 atrocity and other  jihadist activities.  Three of the 9/11 hijackers, including ring-leader Mohammed Atta, met there regularly before moving to America.

Hamburg’s Interior Minister, Christoph Ahlhaus explained the move in refreshingly frank terms: “We closed the Taiba mosque today because young men were converted to religious fanatics there…We have put an end to the spectre behind the walls on Steindamm [Street].”

 He goes on to offer a warning that all American religious freedom/free speech zealots currently siding with Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf who plans to build the Ground Zero mosque should pay attention to very closely.

“A purported cultural association shamelessly exploited the freedoms of our democratic  state under the rule of law to recruit for holy war behind the scenes [emphasis added]…The association continuously promoted  jihadist, aggressive and anti-democratic ideology and religious views in recent years.  We do not tolerate organizations that are leveled against the constitutional order and the idea of understanding between cultures in an aggressive, militant way.” (Big Peace - Brad Schaeffer)

Here in America, the Ground Zero Mosque controversy rages on...

Fellow Coloradan David Harsanyi has the best take.  He burns down the liberal strawman about the first amendment and religious freedoms.  Americans agree Imam Ralf has a constitutionally-protected right to build their mosque; but that same majority (around 66%) also believes it to be a gross display of disrespect to those who died on that tragic day.  Here's the money quote:

"unlike many other faiths, ideological Islam has a poor track record of compatibility with liberal ideals. Surely, that's worth a discussion in free society. Or is it a case of intolerance to bring it up?" (Reason - Harsanyi)

Of course it's not intolerance.  Catholics and Mormons know what it's like to feel the brunt of suspicion, mockery and vile invective.  Why should Muslims get a pass?

Now we have the Ground Zero mosque controversy.  I like David Harsanyi's observation in his article, Why is it bigoted to criticize religion?

Unlike many other faiths, ideological Islam has a poor track record of compatibility with liberal ideals. Surely, that's worth a discussion in a free society. Or is it a case of intolerance to bring it up?

And he exposes the American left as a four-flushing, incoherent rabble stumbling towards dhimmitude.  They rush to embrace all that is scorned and despised by normal Americans:

I don't recall anti-Mormon protesters being referred to as bigots for targeting religion; it appeared to be just the opposite, in fact.

I've not heard those who make generalizations about Catholicism referred to as bigots in Time magazine. Nor have I heard those who regularly disparage evangelicals called intolerant.

It is dark comedy when secular liberalism attempts to accommodate a chauvinistic and violent religion that hates free speech and has no concept of women's or gay rights.
 
The inherently inconsistent routine goes something like this:  

Misogynist obscurantist agitators swoop down out of the dark ages like a cloud of ravenous bats, infest a liberal democracy, and then use that democracy's freedoms to snuff its classical liberalism and all its inherent freedom's forever.  Welcome to dhimmitude.

This puts a whole new twist on Voltaire:

I may not agree with your screaming hatred, your silencing of free speech and the beheading of infidels, but I will defend to my culture's death your right to hate and silence and behead...
