We experienced the Cass Sunstein buggering nudgery, The Van Jones enviro-ripoff and the Plouffian palaver, and we don't like it. We have spit you out like a wasted wad of gum. It tasted sweet at first, but now it's just bitter, rubbery goo...
Had this pointy-headed band of collectivists not shamelessly ripped off the moderate mask that hid their true colors, we would still be arguing over just how much more government money and intervention we need.
Instead they are a spent force, ideologically, intellectually, morally, electorially. Obama's "enemies" have punished him. Harry Reid survives, but Obama and the Pelosicrats are discredited, dyspeptic, dishonored, just plain dissed....

We have two years for the emerging ,tea party' to gel, to coalesce into an even more powerful force, 'THE TEA PARTY,' that will take its grass roots support from unorganized grumbling and grousing to some serious political clout.
There will be a TEA PARTY leader, and it will be someone who inspires, motivates and energizes the patriots who love this country as it was founded.
Who that will be, I can't say. But it will happen. And the 2012 election will be another historic swing towards liberty and against statism.
What exactly can this new GOP wave actually do? On the federal level, nothing. There will only be trifling nonsense from the House, with any wacky "legislation" from that now retarded body stifled in the Senate or crushed by the president's veto pen. In the states, there will be more "conservatism," which, when you look at Red States v Blue States, means more poverty, joblessness, and corporate corruption, and less education, healthcare and public advocacy.
You talk about "liberty?" Liberty is useless if you have nothing.

And you have to ask yourself, Jersey, how have we ended up so empty handed when we have a big nanny state government promising us everything.
Liberty means being at liberty to choose for oneself, not having those decisions forced upon you by a statist politburo.
I do agree that we are looking at political gridlock, which at this point may be a good thing.

Liberty is precious and sacred and absolute regardless of what you have or don't have.
Without liberty, it doesn't matter how much you have, you're still a slave.
Liberty gives you the chance to change your circumstances, according to your own desires and efforts. Not understanding that fundamental concept is one of the reasons the American left is so morally bankrupt.
Jersy: If you think liberty means nothing if you have nothing, you need to rethink your values. In this country, liberty means you have the opportunity to have as much as you want and are willing to work for to have.
You can be a Bill Gates or a homeless guy, depending on what you are willing to do.
Get educated, work hard, take risk and perservere and there is no excuse for you having nothing, because you have both liberty and opportunity.
How do you think Col. Sanders got to be Col. Sanders (in his old age, by the way)? Or Bank of America got to be Bank of America (read its history...it will astound you)?
It is our liberty that makes us a land of opportunity...black or white, rich or poor, anybody who wants to put out can succeed.
I'm cautious. I hope for the best, but the Republicans have a poor track record.
The Tea Party grassroots efforts have only just begun. We will be ready for 2012. There is power in unity. And we've got it!
And the best thing to do right now is to pray for the newly elected Republicans that they will honor what they campaigned and continue to follow biblical doctrine. And walk in the Wisdom of God.
Liberty is having nothing left to lose.
The folks in Washington will ignore us at their own peril. We will be heard.
While I don't agree with the tea party on everything, SF, I have in fact defended them on numerous occasions (mostly from stereotypical assessments of them by lefties). And I respect them/their involvement in the political process. My only real beef is the lack of specificity. For instance, I saw Congresswoman Blackburn on TV last night and she seemed to imply that we can significantly reduce the deficit by simply reducing discretionary spending (something less than 10% of the overall budget). It just doesn't add up. Congressman Paul Ryan seems to be the intellectual head-pin of the tea party movement and it might not be the worst idea out there to be putting him front and center on some of this stuff. Just a suggestion.
You're right, Will. discretionary spending is only around 40% of the budget. Cut it all 10% and you've only made a 4% cut overall (which at this point would be a great start).
It's put up or shut up time for the GOP. Too many citizens still suffer the illusion they can have smaller government and still keep their goodies.
Jersey having "nothing" is a debatable term.
Having breadcrumbs doesn't necessarily give you liberty.
