Hateful Republicans insist Congress obey the laws it passed

The Democrats passed Paygo this year, swearing they would find offsetting cuts or raise taxes to pay for new stuff. How dare the GOP have the temerity to hold them to it!
Political promises are not worth the paper they're printed on, even if that paper is the federal register of US Code that contains the catalog of laws the congress passes and then exempts itself from.
Come November, it's time to take out the trash, America.

I would like to see responsible politicians taking the lead on country-reform, not from the Dem party nor the Rep party but from the Common Sense party.
I have seen republicans do nothing about social security, and democrats destroy our capitalistic society.
The solution to the problem is everyone pays equal amount of taxes! time to deflate the gov so taxes are not so high for everyone.

Bush gave it a shot, and was resoundly booed. Bush was a Republican, right? Kinda?
Yes, "kinda" is the right word, I think, Fredd. I don't like claiming Bush as one of my own, personally, but that's just me. At least he tried on the Social Security thing. People think that because that agenda item failed that it must have never been attempted. It seems that those people now assume that a president can and/or should act dictatorially without regard to the will of Congress to push through his agenda. Just because it didn't make it through doesn't mean he didn't try. They want to see "change" so they're OK with giving Obama powers he was never intended to have under the constitution in order to get things done. That's a big problem. Some people want a dictator and they're getting what they voted for.
Say, what happened to the "He's president, get over it" and the "he's the president, we need to support him" and criticizing the president is emboldening the enemy" even when his approval was in the toilet -- that position is no longer operative, I guess.

The president does not serve at the will of the congress! The Republicans do not have a majority in either house, remember?
If 60% want the insurance reform repealed, I'd be quite surprised as public desire for health care reform was in the area of 70 - 75% in 2008. If it's lower, the lies about death panels and the rest of the hysteria hasn't helped.
Of course his ratings are now below 50%, but when Bush's were 24% the mantra was still that we have to support the president who was a great man for "standing on principle." What a difference a party makes.
Yes, a "dictator" Certainly that's not supercharged hyperbole - oh no. Far be it from me to talk about "conservative lies and demented hysteria or any other kind of rhetorical excess like them pesky, stupid, tyrannical, marxist, fascist, wild eyed "libs" do.
It just wouldn't be fair to make jokes about someone reasonable enough to equate health insurance with tyranny and the kind of Marxist exploitation you find in Switzerland and Massachusetts and Hawaii.
