We The People are sovereign over our own lives; government is the servant, not the master.
The US Constitution does not give us rights; it protects those unalienable rights given to us by God. The Federal Government is not the "boss" of the states or the people. The US Constitution is the instruction manual that the Federal Government must follow, and it was dictated by We The People and the several states.
Ron DeSantis and Adam Laxalt have written an excellent article on why Obamacare is unconstitutional. It is chock full of quotes from the founders talking about how the federal powers are few and defined, not indefinite. They succinctly lay out their case using the words of the founders...

Nice piece, Silver. And yet liberals and progressives most always mis-quote this document.
Rep Like John Lewis (D-GA) comment back in Jan. "You go to the 14th Amendment–it’s equal protection under the law and we have not repealed the 14th Amendment. People have a right to have health care. It’s not a privilege but a right."
Well the 14th says equal protection OF the law, not under.
They, IMO, deliberately change the wording to sway public opinion.

They really is no logical way to reconcile the founder original intent with the progressive/Marxist agenda.
Silver ~ Very well said. The problem with progressives is that they read the Constitution through their myopic lens of social justice. It doesn't matter what the Constitution actually says, what matters to them is their "interpretation" of what governmental powers should be. Law doesn't seem to matter as much as their desire to usurp God-given rights in favor of their "improved" vision for the world.
